softfirm FTP access - our recommended and supported method of access is an FTP client, but if you must, some internet browsers will work with proper setup.

FTP clients * - direct your ftp client to ftp.softfirmstudios.net when prompted enter the username and password provided to you by your contact at softfirm.

• a free pc ftp client, filezilla, is available here
• a purchaseable ftp mac client, fetch, is available here
• if you are using mozilla's firefox, a free ftp extension is required. a direct install is available here. afterwards, within firefox go to TOOLs>fireftp to start it up.

* all ftp clients require passive (or pasv) security to be enabled, along with port 21 open.

via browser ** - requires microsoft's internet explorer release 6 or newer. (see note above about the use of mozilla's firefox)

direct your browser to ftp://username@softfirmstudios.net next, you will be prompted to enter your username and password when the browser connects. (please note for security reason we do not allow direct browser access to ftp://ftp.softfirmstudios.net). we are aware that some users receive errors while connecting or logging in because of firewall restrictions and/ or port blocking, also some users encounter blank directories; for this reason we do not recommend and can not support this method for uploading or downloading via ftp.

** apple's safari browser currently does not allow ftp access.

< ! > we do not allow "guest" or "anonymous" logins. for security reason we do not allow direct browser access to ftp.softfirmstudios.net either. if you need access to the ftp site and have not been provided a username and password in advance please contact the server administrator at admin_ftp [at] softfirmstudios.net.
